Welcome to United Taekwon-Do Studio
First, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Miguel Angel Montero Jr., and I am a 5th Degree Black Belt in the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), as well as the Chief Instructor of United Taekwon-Do Studio.
I have been training in Taekwon-Do for over 34 years and teaching for more than 30 years. My journey as an instructor began at local recreation centers in the neighborhood where I grew up, and it has since led me to proudly own and operate United Taekwon-Do Studio in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania.
I am both a national and international competitor, having competed throughout the United States, Canada, Argentina, and England. Over the years, I have earned two World Titles and multiple National Championships. However, my proudest moments are not medals or trophies—they are watching my two sons earn their Black Belts through dedication and hard work.
My oldest son, Mikey (23), is a 4th Degree Black Belt, and my youngest son, Marco (21), earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt. Seeing them grow through Taekwon-Do has been one of the greatest rewards of my life.
The Philosophy of Taekwon-Do
Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art developed through centuries of Eastern civilization. Today, it stands as one of the most effective systems of weaponless self-defense, while also serving as an exceptional method of maintaining physical fitness.
More importantly, Taekwon-Do builds confidence, self-esteem, discipline, and character. It is one of the most complete forms of physical training, utilizing every muscle group while developing speed, power, coordination, and control. Demonstrations of Taekwon-Do techniques reveal what the human body is capable of achieving through proper training and discipline.
Opportunities Through Taekwon-Do
Taekwon-Do has provided me with opportunities I never imagined. It allowed me to become an entrepreneur, successfully running my own do-jang alongside my wife, Tiffany Montero, who is a 1st Degree Black Belt and assistant instructor at United Taekwon-Do Studio.
It has also given me the privilege of sharing my passion through teaching—watching students grow into instructors, leaders, and role models. Today, my wife and both of my sons assist in the daily operations of the studio, making United truly a family-driven school.
Through Taekwon-Do, I have traveled the world and experienced cultures and places I once only dreamed of. My hope is that through your journey with our family and our school, you too will discover the same opportunities, growth, and fulfillment that Taekwon-Do has given us.
